Here's to 60 Years!
To mark 60 years dressing kiwis, we gave you a chance to win $3000, each month from May-July. What better way to celebrate than with our beloved hoodie - worn by more great looking teams than we can count.
Here's our awesome winners from our 60th anniversary celebration:
May Winner: Manau Primary School
Maunu Primary were thrilled to find out they'd won the Cloke Hoodie prize draw last month. Cassandra from the Board of Trustees told us they're aiming to put the windfall toward a new playground.
Joel, Mark, Steve and Cherie from Crazy Frog Embroidery & Print met with her on Wednesday and were welcomed onto the school with a waiata from the kids. The team loved talking to the kids that would benefit.
The students were wearing their new Cloke Edge Hoodies, embellished by Steve and Cherie at Crazy Frog Embroidery & Print, emblazoned with the school moto on the back: The Freedom to Soar.
June Winner: South of the South Area Schools
South of the South Area School sounds like one school. It's actually seven.
Out here, a school like Maniototo Area School doesn't have enough kids to field its own sports teams but is part of the wider Area Schools network. So, students from Maniototo, Twizel, Waiau, The Catlins, Roxburgh, Lawrence and Arowhenua team up as one side, spanning over 350km between them.
They're not the only ones doing this. Regional school sports collegiates like this exist all over New Zealand. Earlier this year, several of them travelled to Whangarei to compete against each other in rugby, netball, tennis and kī-o-rahi. Next year, they'll travel to Rangiora.
For the kids, it's about more than the score at the end of the weekend. When your whole class is only about 10 people, the sports programme is often where friendships actually get made. After five years of tournaments together, a lot of those friendships turn into flatmates at university.
We caught up with Nikki, Maniototo School's deputy principal, along with Michelle and Geraldine, to present the prize. The Area School’s plan for the $3000 is simple: help replenish the sports team kit, so more kids can turn up looking and feeling like one unit at tournament. As it's a self-funded programme, the win was more than a nice surprise. It was a welcome boost for the sports collegiate.
We presented the $3000 prize alongside Anne and Richard from Kea Printwear. Anne first started in apparel while printing a school's yearbooks well over ten years ago.

Every dollar we give back started with a garment someone chose to wear. 60 years on, it's still the hoodie doing the heavy lifting.

Fountain of Peace New Zealand
Donating garments that would otherwise be recycled to Fountain of Peace. Fountain of Peace organise mission trips to the Kyenjojo district in Uganda, a region effected by extreme poverty. The hoodies are distributed during the mission trips which focus on education, health, in particular newborn and child health, and community empowerment. See Fountain of Peace New Zealand here.

Rapid Relief Team
We make regular donations to the RRT, an organisation that provides immense support in various areas such as emergency and disaster relief, health and disability, youth services, and addressing homelessness, poverty, and hardship.
Mission Without Borders
Earlier this year, Cloke donated hundreds of hoodies to Mission Without Borders NZ — a Kiwi charity that's been supporting communities in Eastern Europe for over 60 years. The cut didn't meet our own product specifications, but they're solid quality and headed somewhere the cold is real.
